The Taking! ROAR!

You know I have this small memory where I've searched for pictures of all the Den Koontz books I bought last year in Du Zhong. But when I search 'Dean Koontz' in my blog it doesn't come out. So please, enlighten me if you know whether I have indeed blogged about it before. =D So anyway, I'm just going to blog about it.

The Taking- Dean Koontz

On the morning that will mark the end of the world they have known, Molly and Niel Sloan awaken to the drumbeat of rain on their roof. It has haunted their sleep, invaded their dreams, and now they rise to find a luminous silvery downpour drenching their small California mountain town. A strange scent hangs faintly in the air, and the young couple cannot shake the sense of something wrong. As hours pass and the rain continues to fall, Molly and Niel listen to disturbing news of extreme weather phenomena across the globe. Before evening, their little town loses television and radio reception. Then telephone and the Internet are gone. With the ceaseless rain now comes an obscuring fog that transforms the once-friendly village into a ghostly labyrinth. By nightfall the Sloans have gathered with some of their neighbors to deal with community damage...but also because they feel the need to band together against some unknown threat, some enemy they cannot identify or even imagine. In the night, strange noises arise, and at a distance, in the rain and the mist, mysterious lights are seen drifting among the trees. The rain diminishes with the dawn, but a moody gray-purple twilight prevails. Soon Molly, Niel, and their small band of friends will be forced to draw on reserves of strength, courage, and humanity they never knew they had. For within the misty gloom they will encounter something that reveals in a terrifying instant what is happening to their world—something that is hunting them with ruthless efficiency.

Buahaha. Just started so I have no comments. Except that I think the vocabulary used is quite hard, I remember trying to read it after I bought it then giving up because I didn't understand what he was trying to describe or the way he was describing it. So now, with my handy dictionary in my hp (though it's not such a great one), I have started to read The Taking. Oh ya, as always, the cover on the left is the one I've got, the one on the right is the original one. Can't wait for the suspense! =D

Am currently in Ray's house on Ray's bed. Went to City Mall to eat Sushi King, quite nice. There's this Big Bowl contest going on. Finish this huge bowl of noodles (you get few choices of noodles) in 10 minutes and get it free, failure to do so, you have to pay for it, and it's about RM38.80. Haha. They should pay me for free advertising (just kidding). So guys who want to show how man they are (or just want to get a free meal), head on down there! Went to Ananas after, as usual, had the Karamel Almondo (or something like that). Highly recommended!!!!! Very, very nice ice cream there, and the drinks are not bad too, especially the yoghurt drinks. Ray is currently half asleep with the Chem text book on her lap. Should I wake her? HMM.

Oh. She's not asleep.
