Sci-Fi, anyone?

Haha. Just going to update my erm, blog with all the books I have read these few weeks. Ehehehe...

Marked- P.C. and Kristen Cast (A House Of Night Novel, #1)
After she is Marked, 16 year old Zoey Redbird enters the House of Night and learns that she is no average fledging. She has been Marked as a special by the vampyre Goddess Nyx. But she is not the only fledging at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school's most elite club, is mis-using her Goddess given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself to find the courage to embrace her destiny- with a little help from her new vampyre friends.
Haha. I like this book. I bought it on impulse that day when I was waiting for my mum to finish her gym session at City Mall. It's interesting, different and an enjoyable read. It is a series and the second one is Betrayed, followed by Chosen, then Untamed, Hunted, and Tempted which is not out yet. Hah. Chosen is not even out here but people are already anticipating Tempted. Sigh, the cover of the book I got, the one on the left, is not the original. I think the original one, the one on the right, looks way better, and starting from Chosen, the theme of the cover sort of changes and it looks so cool and awesome! =D I would definitely follow the whole series. And it's not an emo-ish book! Judging by the cover, and the 'house of NIGHT' and the 'DARK daughters' and everything, it looks emo, but it's not. So.. yup. A 4/5 for me! =D
Betrayed- P.C. and Kristen Cast (A House of Night Novel, #2)
Zoey has managed to settle in at the House of Night and come to terms with the vast powers the Goddess Nyx has given her. Just as she finally feels she belongs, the unthinkable happens: human teenagers are being killed, and all evidence points to the House of Night. While danger stalks the humans from Zoey's old life, she begins to realize that the very powers that make her so unique might also threaten those she loves.

Hehe! Nice book! Better than the first! And the same thing about the covers. But. Thou shall not judge a book by it's cover, though some of us still do, literally. Haha. Another 4/5 for me! =D
Holes- Louis Sachar
Stanley Yelnats is under a curse. A curse that began with his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing great-great-grandfather and has since followed generations of Yelnats. Now Stanley has been unjustly send to a boys' detention center, Camp Green Lake, where the boys build character by spending all day, every day, digging holes exactly five feet wide and five feet deep. There is no lake at Camp Green Lake. But there are an awful lot of holes. It doesn't take long for Stanley to realize there's more than character improvement going on at Camp Green Lake. The boys are digging holes because the warden is looking for something. But what could be buried under a dried-up lake? Stanley tries to dig up the truth in this inventive and darkly humorous tale of crime and punishment- and redemption.

Inventive and humorous indeed! I love this book! The plot is really well-thought out. I bought it because it was one of the books for SPM Eng. Lit. and I wanted to get a taste of what kind of books SPM Eng. Lit. uses. It is really a great book and definitely recommended! =D 5/5 for me! All the way! Oh, and apparently theres a movie too. Hmm..

Dead Until Dark- Charlaine Harris (A Sookie Stackhouse Novel, #1)
Sookie Stackhouse is a small-time cocktail waitress in small-town Lousiana. She's quiet, keeps to herself, and doesn't get out much. Not because she's not pretty. She is. It's just that, well, Sookie has this sort of 'disability'. She can read minds. And that doesn't make her too dateable. And then along comes Bill. He's tall, dark, handsome- and Sookie can't hear a word he's thinking. He's exactly the type of guy she's been waiting for all her life. But Bill has a disability of his own. He's a vampire with a bad reputation. He hands with a seriously creepy crowd, all suspected of- big surprise- murder. And when one of Sookie's coworkers is killed, she fears she's next...

I bought this one on impulse too. When I saw the cover I was like Whoa. But I think another thing that contributed to me buying the book was because I was interested to see how this book would turn out after reading Twilight, where there is also a vampire and mind-reading, though Dead Until Dark came out way before Twilight did. This book is interesting, a nice read! I would buy the following books too, when I can find them in KK. So far I can only find this book, the others are 'not released' yet. The cover on the left is the one I bought, but I think the original is the one on the right. I think I like the original better. Sigh... Haha. So yea, 4.5/5 for me! =D
Well. That is all, I think. More to come! I'm planning to sell some of my books, to get the same ones again but with the covers I want. Haha. That includes Marked, Betrayed, Dead Until Dark, and all four books from the Twilight Series. But, I like in KK, so good luck to me I guess.

Hehe, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is coming out soon! Yes, I know I'm outdated, but seriously, I just saw the trailer- guess where- at the airport. Hah. Well, enjoy!! There is a better trailer, I don't know which is official, but the other one is alot more WHOA then this, but embedding is disabled. So.. enjoy! =D I guess it's time to reread The Half Blood Prince! =D
I own nothing.

MUST watch!

Wicked the Musical! Though seriously, worth to watch live!!! This is just a favourite part of mine of the musical. Halfway through Elphaba rises up (wireworks) and sings her heart out. It was really.. woah! I couldn't find any nice live ones, so yea.. it's not as good as the live. Enjoy!

I'M BACK~~~!!! *vomit*

Sorry. I'm just not feeling that well. I guess it was the totally awesome Italian food we had just before leaving. We had two cheese-based pizzas, and one tomato-based but with strong cheese on it. It was very, very good, but I probably out of practice with cheese consumption. Haha. So I had an uneasy stomach the whole flight, and more after I ate the MAS breakfast. This time the breakfast was... yuck. Me and my dad flew back from Australia yesterday mignight, Aus time. I fell asleep and woke up soon after and started watching movies! Haha. I watched Yes Man. It was funny, there were some laugh-out-loud moments, but it was like.. just okay. Then watched a korean movie, Lost and Found. Nice movie. Hahaha. Good looking guy in it! =D THen because there wasn't really anything I was interested to watch, I watched Twilight. Didn't get to finish it though. It was kind of scary, when we were starting to descend. We hit a really huge storm cloud, or something. And the plane really shook and lunged, giving you the feeling you get when you go on rollercoasters, those omgosh-my-stomoch-is-in-my-mouth-whooosh feeling some people can't stand (haha Jessie!). I don't mind that feeling, I'm okay with it. But at that time it was continuous! Four or five, maybe more times in a row. With my uneasy stomach, I sort of felt like I wanted to throw up. Thankfully I didn't. The KL flight was worse for me. I was tired, my eyes were really irritated, I can never get really comfortable sleep during flights, and my stomach hurt! Then one of our two bags we checked-in didn't arrive. That was sorted-out pretty quickly. All in all, I was pretty happy to get back, if not dead tired. Wow, warm, warm wind, I miss you! BUT. In the end, if I got to, I would still go back to that restaurant and have the excellent pizza and SUPERB dessert again! The dessert was.. wow. Speechless, as Leepei would have put it. Hahaha.

Well. Australia with my family. It was interesting. Cold. Fun. and Fast. I think that was most probably because we were all sleeping, what, 10-12 hours? Haha. So it went by quickly, and we didn't really have much time to do anything. Oh well. It was great because I got to experience Aus before going there to study. That's kind of a relief because I won't have to be, so.... what's 5x daily again? I hope I won't forget it, though I think I will. Hah. I also got to see my school. I Love It! I have always wanted to go to a small school, small as in small compared to those huge schools like PLC. So we went by my future school before dinner before going to the airport, and Kat just brought me around quickly. It's not that grand, but I like it alot. Very simple, not fake and exaggerated in any way and just, a very real, probably straightforward school I will enjoy to go to. YAY! I like my school! Buahahaha.

We didn't do much shopping. We spent most of our time eating anyway. Haha. So it was kind of hard getting my friends some gifts. I didn't get everyone things, so sorry about that! But I did get alot of sweets. Haha. Going to spread joy around my class and friends. Thanks for the introduction to Pods, Dana! Hahaha.

OOOhhhh. We went to watch WICKED, the untold story of the witches of Oz. It was AWESOME! It was so worth the money, everything was PERFECT. I was really blown away by the well-thought-out and perfect fitting everything had. It was so amazing. To everyone, WICKED is a MUST watch! The singing was amazing, the dancing, the storyline, the plot. Hahaha. So yup. WATCH!

We had alot of fish and chips there, very nice. Brumby's cakes and pies and stuff, very nice. Shopping was good, got a few things I like. Walking through the city after having some Korean Crepe thingy, excellent (spot the shrine!!!)! Haha. Watching WICKED. Seeing my school. Pancake Parlour, very nice. Max Brenner choc, very nice. So thanks dad for bringing us to eat Max Brenner and bringing me to see my school. Thanks mum for cooking yum food! Thanks Kel for driving here and there (pity the TomTom, seriously!). Thanks Kat for bringing me around. Thanks Dana for the Pods, hope you like your awesome green hat! =D

On the other side, we met up with alot of my dad's friends there. (OH MY GOSH THE DIM SUM!!!! T-T seriously!!) I sort of got thinking, I noticed that most of them still looked young, and one of them was already ready to retire, still looking young. And there my dad is, always so stressed because of work and working so, so, so hard and compared to his friends, it is actually very obvious. Comparing hair colour, and wrinkles and stuff like that, dad looked very old and worn. Dad always works so hard for us, and lately he has so many projects, one after another, always working late and everything. I think I'm sort of like him. He just can't put it down, and tries to put aside everything for work. Like how it is for volleyball to me. I guess. This is just what I think, I'm not saying I'm right or anything. But I think, maybe it's like me, not liking to let anyone down and leaving it for someone else to handle and not making sure it is 100% first hand or something. It is complicated. I'm not going to try to explain anymore. I'm probably wrong anyway.

Haha. Well. One last thing. WATCH WICKED!!!

Choc by the bald man, man! Hehe! =D

cake, cake and MORE cake

I can't believe I haven't mentioned this before. I had a dilemma. Again, I know. It's annoying, isn't it? With me constantly facing these conflicts. Gosh. But anyway. I suddenly realized that my interschool volleyball competition clashed with my holiday to Aus. It would have been an easy choice to make except there wasn't really alot of 'old' players in our team. So if I left, a new one would have to play. There was another old player who could play as there was 7 of us, but she (Pitza) might have a bsb competition at that time too. So, if Pitza didn't play and neither did I, I was sort of throwing my teammates to fend for themselves with a new player to cover. It might have been an easy choice for others, but I guess I just care too much. I'm a very passionate person. =) Easily falls in love with someTHING, and always wants it to do its best, especially team stuff. So I wanted to be able to do both. But of course, the stupid cake got into my way again. Seriously!!! -.- .

But anyway. There were also other things like, if I burned my ticket to Aus and played, what if we still didn't win? If I went to Aus and didn't play and neither did Pitza, what if they lost? The guilt! If I stayed and Pitza stayed, what if she got to play and I didn't? The ticket is so expensive! Would it be worth it, burning it for just those 3 days? If I went to Aus and they won, I'll be sad because I won't be part of the daerah team. If I left and played, what if I still didn't get chosen for the daerah team? So so so many possibilities, so so so many IFs. What to choose? If only I knew what the outcome would be.

I talked with my team, they all wanted me to stay. But the ticket was expensive. It was actually a cheap fare but it was still money, and alot of it too. I couldn't just burn it and not think twice. I talked with my sisters. Kel said just come to Aus, what is volleyball in KK? Kat wasn't very helpful. Mum was rooting for me to go Aus, but was like, you decide for yourself. -.- Haha.

After thinking and stressing about it for a day and more, it hit me full on that hey, it all comes down to choosing either family and volleyball. It was so obvious then. It just suddenly occurred to me that's what it really was. Family or volleyball and friends? I didn't think twice then. It was sort of like a family trip, in a way. So...

I'M SORRY GUYS. More to myself. Really very much more sorry to myself, actually. Sigh. =( But. GOOD LUCK GUYS! I really hope you guys will win!!! =D Go Go Go!!!! Set, Jessie! And Smash Spikers!!! After all the hard work, make it worth it. And always, always, with a smile, forced or not, on your face!

I'll be jealous and sad too when they all go for daerah. But when I told Turtle this, she said, I'll be beside you, here at school. Haha! It helped, definitely. Thanks Turtle!!! =D *touched!!*

Well. I'm really really sorry to miss the sleepover me and Leepei planned at her house. Sigh.

ANYWAY. Always look on the bright side of life (8) *whistles*.

There'll be so so so so so much homework for me when I get back. I'm already missing about 3 or 4 tests. Gosh. What to do, what to do.

Haha. What to do? Look to the right, where it is the bright side of life. Or the left, where it is ALSO the bright side of life. Hah.

Menang jadi arang, kalah jadi abu. <- something we learned today. I said to Turtle, Menang jadi ali, kalah jadi abu. She said, Huh?

WOW

Spent the weekend at Kuching for the Qing Ming Jie. Skipped the club meeting on Friday and went home, got ready then went to the airport, coming back only on Sunday.

It was crazy, as usual. Although I was the only cousin there, (KL people didn't come) it was still kind of a full blown family gathering. All the grand-uncles, who I call Gu-Gong (don't laugh if I'm wrong), were there, flying in from KK and America and I-don't-know-where-else. The grand-uncles are always drinking beer and smoking outside the house, sitting on the plastic chairs or the wooden swing, most of them topless. That's what you always see when you look outside the house. They had a mahjong table out there this time, which was kind of weird as it's never there.

So. I had KFC at the airport, then had some noodle thing when I got there, then Ryan's koropok, then the Bella Italia pizza. Thanks Uncle Chai who always takes away the pizza for us! =D =D Major eating marathon, definitely!

The Kuching cousins' eating habits are really weird. Ryan has Mi Goreng (yes! The maggie one!) for a meal, ice cream or koropok for breakfast. Or something really weird like cheese or tomato sauce. Haha. Nat had cake and milk for breakfast. Ice cream for... lunch? Me and Nat had one and a quarter of Small Tub Sunny Hill ice cream together while watching CSI NY I think. It was fun! =D

So Qing Ming was really enjoyable. The cemetery over there in Kuching is quite nice, not clustered and unorderly like here. It's quite clean and quite pretty. I learnt a few things about Qing Ming that I didn't know before as it was my first time. It was raining, so everyone just sat around under umbrellas or hoodies, chatting (and smoking), just passing time. Nai Nai prepared SOOOOOOO many things for that day for Fat Gong Gong. All the food and the paper money and everything. It was so amazing and really really hard work! THey got up at 5am!! I'm just really really thankful that she is capable of doing these things, at her age. Still so passionate and strong. I hope that Fat Gong Gong enjoyed the day as much as we all did! =D

Me, Aunty Ping, Nat and Ryan went to Sunny Hill on Saturday and KELLY! Unfortunately you didn't make much difference. Haha. We found that it was closed. How sad. Anyway, we went back around 7pm, it's opening time. And It Wasn't Open! So we just parked outside Sunny Hill and waited. It was our first time waiting like that, it seemed like we were staking out or something. Haha. It opened at about 7.30pm I think. Finally. Buahaha. We bought a small cup each! A small cone for Ryan. Yum!!! Mix vanilla and choc! We bought an extra tub of vanilla and another tub of choc, for other people, but me and Nat ate the extra vanilla. Haha.

Well. I really enjoyed the weekend! It was so great! =D And thanks Nai Nai for doing my new uniform. She corrected the length and everything. Appreciate it alot! =D

OOOHH!! KEL! They got their Labrador!!! It was abit pinkish, probably an albino, I didn't ask. It's so active and so pretty. It just kept jumping up. Haha. They are thinking to get a Beagle Dog, someone they know is giving one away. We went to look at it one afternoon and it was kind of cute, with big eyes (ahahhaha, Nat so mean!). I think they'll probably get it. We'll soon find out!

Well, I sort of think Ryan will be a veterinarian. Seriously. He loves animals. It's just the way he treats them. Nat's cat, May, the Labrador, Labby, and the Beagle Dog, Hiccup. He just loves them. He just goes close to them and hugs them (him being almost the same size as them) and talks to them. So funny. I heard him saying while hugging Labby, 'Cannot bite Koko, k? Koko loves you. So you cannot bite Koko, k? K, Labby? I love you, k?' HAHAHA! So funny coming from him. And he hugs May too. Just bends down and hugs her, while mummering something to her. So funny! =D Ryan rocks!!

Well, DRUMROLL!!! EYEEEEEEE'm, going to Aus TOMORROW! Actually KL, and Aus the next day. But STILL! Embarking on my journey to my dream holiday in AUS! Yes, I've been so wanting to go to Aus for a holiday with my sisters. Spend time with them and eat those yummy chicken and mushroom pie, go on those trams and stop by a bakery. YUM!!! And finally, it is HERE!!! (can't believe it's April already!). So HERE I COME!! I CAN'T WAIT! I'm so EXCITED EXCITED EXCITED! I'm looking forward to my long flight, with the small tv's in front of us, with the movies and the small control, to the meals we're going to have in the plane (AEROPLANE MEALS! I love them! Hahahaha), to being in a cold weather (I don't have anything to wear!!!) and well.. everything!

Hua Hua Hua, Nat with short hair, she looks TALL!!!
