UPDATE!

My perfect birthday. 12th of Feb, 2009! =D

So it was a Thursday, and just like any other day, there was school. (Yes, throw something at my head if you want, but) I don't really remember everything. BUT, I know I was really happy. Close friends gave me presents and birthday cards (my favourite!!), birthday wishes here and there. Happy that people wished me a happy birthday. Yup, doesn't seem like alot but it means alot to me. For some weird reason... hmm. So I had a great, great day in school. Thanks, guys! Seriously! =D

As far as I knew, I didn't have anything planned, no birthday celebration or something like that. Hey, I had already celebrated before right? And I know what you're thinking. Probably a surprise dinner or something like that.

HAH! No. What I had was way better.

I had a simple dinner in my house with my family. Define simple? Well, not really simple. My mum toiled in the kitchen and (drumrolllll) grilled big PRAWNS! GRILLED PRAWNS! My absolute FAVOURITE! Seriously. And it was so delicious. Seriously the best prawns I had ever tasted! Topped with black ground pepper. Mmmmm... simply perfect! Of course, my mum cooked other delicious stuff but unfortunately (seriously unfortunate) I cannot remember what (enlighten me if you do!). But I just know it was all just perfect.

I remember I was rushing to finish up my homework because I wanted to be 100% relaxed for dinner. So there I was rushing my Moral Tugasan Harian. Then I wrote on a piece of A4 paper my instructions or some might say rules for my 2009 16th birthday dinner. The first was saying my mum had to bath to sit down for my birthday dinner. Weird? This is because she never got any time to bath after cooking a big dinner for dinners at my house. She had to toil in the kitchen for hours and hours and then she comes out all flustered and stressed, without any time to bath before the guests arrive, and have to serve them, trying to make them all happy. So I wanted her to be happy and relaxed too for my birthday dinner. My other instruction, was for my dad to wear a happy shirt. What me and my parents mean by 'happy shirt' is a comfortable shirt, usually worn only inside the house and not for other people to see you in, and definitely not to impress the opposite gender in. HAHA. Anyway, my dad came home early from work (thanks, dad! =D) and bathed into a shirt that doesn't exactly fit the definition of 'happy shirt' but, is the shirt that I chose with him! (Seriously exclamation mark). We chose it together during the 2nd round of 'free shopping' at 1borneo using only vouchers. He only joined me and my NaiNai for the 2nd round and we got the shirt from Goldlion and it really is a nice shirt. So I was kind of touched when he came downstairs, having bathed, and said 'Hey. Is this a happy shirt?'. I don't really know whether he remembers that that is the shirt we bought together. But oh well. Believe in the best! =D So yup, that was great too! =D

Ahem. Those were the only two things I had on my list. There was a drawing of a stick-figure girl in a stick-figure dress wearing a stick-figure birthday cone-shaped hat holding up her bandaged index finger, because I had injured (sprained I think) my finger from volleyball and it was swollen. Fat-finger, I called it.

Anyway. So yeap. Then because my oh-so-loving brother had to go out to meet his friend (a previous appointment, he says) for dinner (yes, dinner! Not supper!), he had to leave early. So my mother insisted on me opening my presents first before he left. I didn't really want to. You want to know why? -.- Because I was so scared that I would cry reading the birthday cards. It's always so touching. Gosh. Anyway. I did in the end. So i opened Kev's seriously badly wrapped present. It was like one heap of greyish-black crumpled wrapping paper. And it was a pillow! Those pretty pillows! The soft, smooth ones that are quite expensive and are so nice to touch and hug. THOSE pillows (if you know what I mean)! It was pink and heart shaped (yea...) and had 'LOVE' written on it. Haha. Thanks Kev!! =D

Then I opened a small box from my parents. It was an IPOD!!!! Nothing special, not the new nano chromatic ipod, not even the ipod nano, just the classic one. The new classic one, 3rd generation. Only 4GB and silver, nothing special. But still, an IPOD! I've been wanting to get one! But wait, there is a story behind the ipod! HAHAHA.

Then I opened a thick envelope. It was the next present. So, slowly, I pulled the folded papers out from the envelope. What could it be? What could it be? I unfolded the papers. GASP! IT'S A LIZARD WRAPPED IN PAPER!!!!!! OH MY GOSH!!

HAHA Jussst kidding. Seriously. Anyway. As I was saying. Yes, what could it be? I unfolded the papers. GASP! IT'S A (HAHA jusst kidding). 'What is this?' I thought when I looked down and saw my school's leave application form, it was an empty form, details not yet filled out.

Next paper, it was a printed out typed formal letter. 'I would like to apply leave for my daughter.....................' and right there at the bottom: Mr. Lai's chop and signature.

Next paper, it was a printed out thing with lots of tiny words on it. I looked closer at it. Right at the top: 'Passenger Electronic Ticket. Your itinerary is attached here for your reference. We look forward to your journey with us.'

AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Seriously!!!! I know I totally did not show it (I don't do shocked well) but I so totally AM! I'm so grateful and HAPPY and... WOW! The best part of it? The chop and signature of Mr. Lai right there, well and ready for me to use when I want. Well, probably I was really happy about that because me and the disciplinary board in TTSS, don't really get along well. =( Sigh.

But. WOW! THANKS MUM AND DAD!

Then Kel was like 'Hey, mum! Get Kat's present.' Apparently my mum had forgotten. She handed me this posted package. It wasn't that big. The size of an A4 or smaller. It was hilarious! Because you have to write down a description of what it is you are mailing, and they will write it on the envelope outside. So, Kat being Kat, wrote exactly what it was she was mailing. So with me being so observative and everything, of course I saw the description and knew what was inside before opening it. Surprise gone. Haha. But OH I REALLY LOVE THE PRESENT! The colours were perfect. The size not really, but hahahahaha THANKS! =D

It was absolutely, positively, totally, seriously, no doubt the best birthday ever. To be able to first celebrate with my friends, then with just my family, it was great! The presents were all perfect! The birthday cards I got from my friends, I really really love those! Kev also gave me this shower scrub just before I went to bath on my birthday. I don't know whether he just happened to have a spare bottle and thought it would be a nice present too, or he bought it with me in mind, it doesn't matter to me. Seriously. He also gave me a wombat soft toy before bed I think. I know it's kind of weird for us siblings to, you know, express emotion openly and things like that, especailly with Kev. But I can tell you mean it, even when you try to hide it. Thanks, Kev!!!! =D Regardless of whether you still remember it now. Haha.

Well. I had a great dinner that night. It was... perfect. I know I describe quite a few things perfect but that dinner, that birthday, that whole day was just perfect. At times like this I always close my eyes, at least for a brief while, and thank God for giving me that moment. On that day, I thanked God that I have lived 16 years on His earth safely and healthily and happily, together with so many loved ones and am so grateful for Him watching over us and having mercy on us e-ve-ry day, 24/7. I vouched on that day to be less stressed and be happier, to show him how grateful I am, for Him, for myself and for others.

Until now, I am still trying to live life happily, it proves to be a challenge sometimes, but I know I can make it through at the end of the day, though of course, I waver sometimes. You know why? Because I have got absolutely fantastic people beside me.

Yea.

THANK YOU EVERYONE!

Love you guys! =D
