New Moon

I watched New Moon just now at Melbourne Central. The cinema seats are more comfortable than the ones back home. When I sat down the word 'soft' came to mind instantly. But they weren't like those super comfortable sofa seats, just more comfortable and softer than the cinema seats back home. Haha.

New Moon. Nice. I think that this director really did a better job than the one before. The one before added a lot of her own stuff (eg. spider monkey, the tree climbing thing etc). For this one, the movie was much more realistic (as in the effect and the wire works and stuff). Seriously. This time the effects of them being super fast were really much better! They did that speeding the whole thing up (for the vamps' speedy movements) and then suddenly going slow motion for effect, which kind of made me think of The Guy Was Gorgeous He Was Cool in the fighting scene where he asks the girl to count to a hundred. I thought that was pretty effective, made it really seem fast because of the contrast it had with the slow motion.

And let me just laugh for a moment about Jacob's wig when he still had long hair. It was a mess! Don't get me wrong though, I think him with long hair is better, and the wig is definitely better than the one in Twilight, but it was falling everywhere with no real parting. Kind of like the wig in Mean Girls when Lindsay Lohan went to the halloween party. Hmm. Then when he got short hair it was so... neat. Haha. But it was all good! =D

Ooohhh.. Dakota Fanning was really good. She's so cool! =D I thought it was kind of rushed after the Volturi thing, but I thought it ended really well. All in all it wasn't that big a disappointment and it was ok! =D The only thing I missed when the age thing Bella and Jacob kept doing at the beginning. Like when one of them did something, they added years to their ages to compete to see who was older. That was funny. But oh well.

Team Jacob! =D

Picture for fun! =D

Classic! (DO NOT READ!)

It's really long! But I really took a long time doing this. So DO NOT READ if you are just going to scoff at me. And yes, I know all the non-korean ones are all animated movies. I LOVE animated movies. Seriously. And I'll continue this post with the other non-animated movies and books and stuff. Sigh. Didn't think I had that many. AND I might have missed out a few too. Hmm... Oh and all the pictures and descriptions are not mine. =D

Anyway. I think I'm going crazy! But the reason I have this absolutely HUGE urge to blog about this is because my sister is watching it now! Ok. So this lame post is about my definition of classic movies AND books and some songs. But I guess it is impossible to really list out all of my definition of classic songs because there're just too many. Anyway. My definition of classic, basically, is just those movies etc. that are very awesome that you (or maybe just myself) can just watch them over and over again.Yay!

Ok. So: Classic Movies!

The Guy Was Gorgeous, He Was Cool (那小子真帥)- Korean (2004)
Soong Seung-Heon, Jeong Da-Bin

Hahaha. This movie brings back a lot of memories because I kept introducing it to different friends and thus, kept watching it again but with different friends. Haha. The latest time I watched it was with Steph and Tur (and so Pei had to watch it again. Sorry Pei!). We started watching it using YouTube in the Stationery Shop and it was so nice that Steph and Tur wanted to go to my house to finish it. But Tur had tuition so only Steph and Pei came. Then the next time all 4 of us were at my house we watched it again. Before, I also watched it with Pitza and Pei.

I really like this movie. The guy is really, REALLY good looking. In my opinion he looks the best here. In all his other movies he looks really old. But yea. This movie is so funny! And it's those typical love stories that really woo you, where the guy is always protecting the girl and fighting for her and always comes back for her. Haha. Typical, classic wooer! =D Oh, and the beginning of the movie is AWESOME!

Han ye-won(Jung Da-bin) is a plain-looking high school girl and one day, she writes a derogatory message about a boy on the web. It turns out that the boy, Ji Eun-seong(Soong Seung-heon), is a popular handsome high school student who is known to be very good at fighting but he projects a mystrerious lonely aura. The Prince Of Egypt (1998)

The songs are amazing in this movie! =D

As Nemo works with his new friends on a plan to escape their tank, Marlin and Dory swim closer, but they'll need more than just fins to get into the dentist's office.

My Little Bride- Korean (2004)
Kim Rae-Won, Moon Geun-Yeong

A romantic comedy full of sweet, fun-loving innocence, My Little Bride promises to charm and entertain anyone with a heart!

My Tutor Friend- Korean (2003)
Kwon Sang-Woo, Kim Ha-Neul

Funny movie. Also a typical love story. Haha. Kwon Sang-Woo is very, very famous. Not as good looking as Soong Seung-Heon in my opinion, but still not bad. Haha.

Kim who is from a wealthy family who should be in his second year of college, is still finishing his highschool requirements. His father hires a tutor for him who is his own age, Choi, but she comes from a poor background. As Choi is determined to tutor the rebellious and reluctant Kim, an unexpected friendship forms.

First Up!

This post will be about random stuff!! Hopefully 'Classic' or 'Justifications/Excuses' will come soon. Hehe.

Anyway. Yesterday was the first day of my exam. It was ok I guess. Nothing THAT hard, but hopefully I scored my highest! =D Today there's no school because we don't have any double periods today. Our exams are taken on our double periods. So yes, that means we don't arrange a special time table for exams which makes me not get the 'Oh no! Exams are coming!' feeling because it feels so informal just like a test. Oh well. I know I always go back on my decisions (I'm so tired of it) but I sat for the Maths Methods exam, which, I remember now, I mentioned in one of the lousy posts. So yea. I sat for Paper 1 on Friday and Paper 2 the day before yesterday. It was ok-kay-ish. Paper 1 was ok, but I thought paper 2 was quite hard but only because I was nervous and I got a headache thinking. Oh well. So I got the results on Tuesday. 83% for Paper 1 and 66% for Paper 2. Big difference right? But I'll talk more about it in the Excuses post.

Yesterday, after exams (Maths and Language Analysis or ENO) I followed Kat to Box Hill to get stuff for dinner. There, I bought my FIRST sushi in Australia. They call it hand-rolls here. Which is weird to me. Haha. Anyway. I bought a Salmon Avocado Handroll from Sushi Sushi for $2.30. T-T Seriously. It's a long hand-roll, but not as long as those Temaki we get back home. I think it was so nice! Nice, only because it was my first ever sushi in Australia, and because I was so excited. But truthfully, it wasn't that great. It wasn't that fresh but the wasabi was nice and fragrant (?). Haha. Today there was no school and me and Kat went to the city so I could get my school books for next year. We bought a few, the others were either out of stock or Kat would try to get them from her friends. Alot of my books are new editions which is sad. One new text book costs about $70!!!!! Sigh. I hope I'll like my text books. Today, I bought another sushi. Haha. This time it was from.. erm.. I forgot the name. It was $2.20 and I bought the same hand-roll. But it wasn't as nice mainly because the wasabi came from a packet and it just didn't smell that nice. Oh well. I enjoyed it anyway. Kat also bought me a Brumby's cinnamon donut. It was ok. =D

The weather is crazy. You remember how I was talking about the weather and how it was getting really warm? Well, it's back to cold now. Sigh. I think I prefer warm weathers, even though I know it's going to be really hot and stuffy, because I don't want to go cycling in the cold. That's torture to me. It's been raining alot these few days. Last Saturday, it rained the whole day. But it wasn't those heavy torrents that floods like what we get back home, just normal, cold rain. Looking at the weather report, it shows only 20+ degrees for the whole week. Sigh.

I've been watching alot of dramas. Since I don't have much of a social life, or a pathetic one, that's all I look forward to. I'm watching Hana Yori Dango (I know, I'm outdated!) and Vampire Diaries. Haha. (What a sad life).

OOOOoooohhhhh. Good news (nerdy news?): I FINISHED READING THE TAKING! I know. It took me ages. I think the book is only ok. It didn't really give me the suspense I was looking for. But the thing I liked about it was that it was absolutely unpredictable. Only until the very end did you know how it was ending. Maybe Sci-Fi books are all like that, unpredictable. Definitely a refreshment for me as I always seem to be able to guess the ending in the middle of a book. Anyway. The ending was, I think, AWESOME. Really wowed me. =D Well.. I think.. a 4.5 or 5 slash 5 for me. 4.5 because of the no-suspense thing, but 5 for it's unpredictability and ending. I have to say, I would have thought that if the story ended with them reaching the mountains and stuff, it would really have sucked, like Cell by Stephen King. But it ended with that beach scene. Wow that was great. Haha. Ok. Enough ranting.

I bought Montana, 1948 which we will be doing for next year's English. I read the prologue and it seems really, really interesting. The prologue was really fantastically written. I can't wait to read that book. Someday! =P

Oh and thanks to Vanessa, I took the Nerd/Geek/Dork test. Haha. Apparently I am 52% nerd, 43% geek and 30% dork. Hmm. According to the website, a nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia. A geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one. A dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions. Hmm.. I think that strips me off my self-proclaimed Geek title. Sigh. Oh well. Now we know the truth. Not going to change to Nerd, too much trouble. Haha. But from now on, I'm a proud nerd! (Sigghhh..)

Well.. That's all I guess. Kel went to Chadstone because today had VIP sales or something. She bought a small Christmas tree, requested by Kat, and bought other random stuff and SIX packets of chips!!!!!!!!! Oh well. Cheers to keeping fit. Haha.

Maths Methods

A big sigh on that one. Seriously. More later. The bell is about to go. I was thinking about talking about this and so wait for 'Justifications Or Excuses', coming soon? Haha. I know. Lousy posts.

Whoops

Classic- coming soon! =D I'm SO tired!!!!!

Examinations

It's that time of the year but it's so different from before. I'll get into that next time. Exams are on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Last Friday I sat for the Year 11 Maths Methods (yes, I know. I'm always so indecisive) and it was kind of okay. The second paper is on Monday. I'm disappointed though, about the first paper. Yes, that is what I came to blog about. So frustrated at my carelessness! Yesterday, I was revising for Monday and the more I did the more mistakes I realized I had made. GAH! The probability! I did a similar question before! But I gave the answer for 2 going for the dental check-ups and 1 not going, but they wanted exactly 2. *hits head against wall*. And the integration!!! I FORGOT THE CONSTANT! And then there's the Matrix. I hadn't learned that (it is in MM CAS, which we are taking next year but not this year) so I left it blank. Sigh.. And what about other mistakes??

Frustration. Anyway. I'm going to study now. I'm trying to finish up most of the subjects so I don't need to study anymore. YAY. Can't wait. While I'm here studying and scolding myself for my carelessness, everyone back home is not doing anything. Well. I'll make time later for emails. =D See ya! Oooohhhh, before I go, I'm going to put some MCR and LP songs into my iPod. HEHEHE. (Lame, much?)

Transformers: The Revenge Of The Fallen

Surprisingly, I think it's a really good movie. I really enjoyed watching it, unlike the first one. But, it's thanks to Ms. Sporri (Not sure if spelt right) that I actually watched it. Ms. Sporri is my Consumer Science teacher. Consumer Sci is sort of like Chemistry (...) and she is by far my most favorite teacher. =D I like her voice, which is loud enough, and also her accent. She grew up in Switzerland and can speak German (...). Well, I think she's a really cool teacher. She not only teaches well, she's funny, open-minded, and really responsible/efficient.

For me and Sum Sum who have just joined the class, she gave us all the previous hand-outs and notes and everything for the coming exam. And she did it without us asking! (waa-oo-uuu!).

Last Tuesday, we went on an excursion to a brewery factory (organic chemistry yo) by tram. From the tram stop we had to walk to the factory and she was navigating us to the factory but we sort of got lost. But I guess it doesn't really count as lost because we just went in circles before arriving at the factory. Haha. The guys were all 'Miss! We were here before!!'. The excursion was okay. Interesting but not fun. It ended at about 1.30pm (we finish school officially at 3pm). She told us before that she thought it was pointless to bring us back to school to finish up the last two periods so she was bringing us to Victoria Gardens (where IKEA is) which is walking distance from the factory to have lunch. (See! How cool is that?). Well, the end part was quite enjoyable too. We all went separate ways to have lunch. Me and Sum Sum sat in the food court, eating our sandwiches. We wanted to go to Angus and Robertson after but we didn't have enough time. We had to gather then leave for the tram. At a stop on the tram, two girls got on and it was evident they had just come from a sports game of some sort. They were super tall! Seriously. I think about a head taller than me? Their heads went pass the handles that hang down from the top by about 2 inches? Woah. O.O Jealous. Haha.

Anyway. The next lesson, she said that because she felt really bad for getting us lost, she wanted to redeem herself so she thought that for the next lessons for the week we would take it easy and not do much and for the double period on Friday, we would watch a movie. Then for the next week (this week), we would do revision for the exam. So we were all excited and we discussed what movie we wanted to watch. Some girls were like 'WHITE CHICKS! WHITE CHICKS!'. Some guys were 'Up!!'. Haha. After a few suggestions, she announced that she originally thought to bring Transformers 2 for us to watch and everyone was okay with that. So it was set. Someone mentioned that we won't have enough time to finish the whole movie in the 2 periods so she shouldn't be late and she said 'I won't be late. I'll be early. I'll be there very early.'

When I stepped into the classroom the day of the movie, I was so pleasantly surprised. The tables in that classroom were long tables which fitted 3 people, and there were about 8 tables. And on each table, there was a plastic cup and paper plate. In the cup were Maltesers and on the plate were some potato chips, gummy bears (!!!) and some chocolate thing. I was so wow-ed by the fact that Ms. Sporri actually prepared all this for us, that she didn't plop a bag of chips on the table but that she took time to prepare an assortment for us. =D That was what she meant by 'I'll be there very early'. She was preparing snacks for us. So yea, those two periods were really enjoyable. With snacks in front of us, and a good movie before us. =D Luckily I had Sum Sum to enjoy it with. 'Nothing brings happiness unless it is shared.' =D

I think the movie is really good. It's really, really funny, to me. The jokes are hahahaha funny. But there are some parts where it was kind of off. And some parts just corny with the heroic music going on (Linkin Park!). But I kept finding myself laughing inside because I kept imagining how they were acting this using a Green Screen only. HAHA. But really good. Watched it again with Kat just now. Yay. Thanks Miss!! =D

Redemption

Hello!! It's finally that time of the week which I have come to love so much: WEEKEND! I just came from a shower after watching TV. Watched Transformers 2 with Kat, then continued watching a few episodes of Hana Yori Dango.

Ok. Because of the seriously lousy Bicycle=Flying post, I need to redeem myself. Though, come to think of it, my posts aren't that great anyway. Looks like I'll be trying desperately to redeem myself for the next few years or so. Haha. Anyway, yes. I really think that riding a bicycle is like flying. You go by so much faster than walking. When you look below you, the road you are riding on just wooshes past you so fast, and the wind is just blowing your hair back, cooling your face. It's excellent. I think this reason is also why I love ice skating/ roller blading so much. I'm not any good (at both), don't get me wrong. But I just get so excited whenever I'm going skating. And also thankful to have been blessed with a center of gravity that is normal. =D

Speaking of roller blading, for ACE the past Wednesday, which is also the last ACE ever, we went to Bayswater for roller blading. Lunch was catered. You had a choice of Hot Dog Bun or Chips. Both were quite ok. I know you might be thinking: Chips?! Only chips for lunch?! But the chips were quite big and they gave a nice amount. I chose the Hot Dog Bun of course, it was good. =D The lunch came with a cup of soft drink.

Anyway. Roller blading. As some of my friends will know, every time I go ice skating (or wax skating, which is the case back home), I NEVER fall. It's not that I'm such a great skater or possess some natural skill, it's because every time I slip, I always seem to be able to catch myself. And ever since I've mastered skating, (as in learn how to skate properly, not do tricks and twirls and things like that) I've never ever fallen. Not once. (HAHA to Angela!!! =P =P)

Well. During ACE, the skates we were given were good skates. They weren't like that seriously lousy, cheap ones back home which left marks on your legs and, worse, stank of the smell of FEET + DEODORANT, they were nice and comfy.

The whole day was quite fun. Though I realized how little Asian guys know how to skate. Seriously. In the middle of the day, I was there skating along at a moderate speed because I was talking to a friend who was at the edge of the rink. Then suddenly someone whammed into me. Seriously. I thought it was a friend pushing me or something because he held onto/pulled me as if needing support/wanting me to fall. I lost balance and tried desperately to regain it and then my foot slipped and that was it. I crashed onto the floor. It hurt! My butt!!! And the impact was hard enough that my head felt like it was hit too. Seriously p.a.i.n! I looked behind my shoulder and there he was. The guy who made me fall. Brad. He was on the floor too. (Haha to that). He said sorry and I just shook my head with that 'ouch' expression still on my face, which meant 'it's no big deal', not 'what's wrong with you' shake. Haha. So yea. It took me about two seconds to brace the pain I felt in my butt and head, then I stood up. Gah. Wince!!!

Well. I have a bruise on my butt now. Hurts when I lean against walls. Haha. It's all good now. It's definitely momentous! My first fall ever! Oh well. Too bad it was over here rather than with everyone back home who knew it was my first ever time falling. Sigh. I still felt really excited going skating. Whee! Looking forward to go again next time. =D

Many thanks to Kel who taught me how to skate. =D I remember we had about 3 or 4 pairs of roller blades at home, all different sizes. I remember Kel and Kimberly (cousin) teaching me outside my house. It was really fun. We kept laughing about falling down, we never really thought much about it I guess. Now we don't use the skates anymore, I don't even know if it's still at home. But thinking of the time when I learnt how to skate makes me think of some quote from a movie/book. It said something along the lines of how when we were young, we didn't know what to feel, we just reacted to our surroundings. When we fell, we looked at our parents. If they were laughing, we would think everything was alright and we laughed too. But if they had worried expressions on their faces, then we would cry. Hmm.

Well. Thanks Kel! Here are two pictures I dedicate to you in my gratitude. BUAHAHAHA.

ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! BTW, not mine, from Deviantart. =D Nice work!

Ok, My Bicycle

Yup, so continuing my previous post about bicycles, yes, I bought one about 3 weeks back? I don't really remember. I bought a GT from The Bicycle Superstore. It is a Hybrid and it was on offer, a hundred dollars off its original price. Now having ridden it a few times, I think I made a really good choice. (Which, BTW, was totally by chance. I did not make that choice with the guidance of my intellect. Haha.) The saddle is considerably soft. I tried a Giant bicycle in another shop, Cycle Works and I thought the saddle was quite hard, and he showed me a saddle I could buy for $40 which was really soft. But I think the saddle on my GT is as soft as that $40 saddle the guy from Cycle Works showed me. So yea, that's a good thing. And I think I made the right choice (also, a choice I made by chance) with getting the bicycle that has suspension on the frame. Haha. My bicycle is grey in colour, not really anything nice. My helmet is red and white and I'm looking for stickers to stick onto my helmet. Haha. I've come across some disagreements with my bicycle before, but it's all good now. =P

The day before yesterday and the day before that, I decided to take my bike to ride longer distances in preparation for the Bike Camp. Before, I only rode around the train station, using the paths which lead up to the platform. I Google Mapped the area around my house and chose to ride around the housing areas and parks. I calculated, using Google Map, that those two long rides amounted to about 10km each. Which is considered a short distance when compared to the distances I'll be covering at the Bike Camp. Anyway, I really enjoyed those bike rides. The houses here are really beautiful. That's the great thing about Melbourne, the thing I love about Australia that cannot be found in Malaysia. The hosuing areas have so many trees by the road sides, it's really beautiful. And the houses themselves look so nice and homey. I usually go riding at about 6.30pm. The sun sets at about 8pm (weird right?) and so I can catch the sun set. I get home before the sun has actually setted though. But it's always around the time when the sun is really bright and it's annoying because it shines through your windows and gets into your eyes. But combine that bright, orange sun, with the colour it makes the sky go, and the formation of the clouds here down under, you get a really nice view. I've taken some photos, might just post them up. But actually, I don't think that the photos look really good anyway. The real view was much better. But oh well.

The bell has just gone. See ya!

Bicycle = Flying

I BOUGHT A BICYCLE! Finally! I LOVE IT. I love the feeling of riding a bicycle, somehow I think it's like flying. I don't know why. It cost alot of money though. But I want to do something else now, so I'll blog about it next time. YAY!

The Sky Down Under

You know I've been so amazed. Since the first day I've been here, the sky has not ceased to amaze me. The sunset here is absolutely AMAZING. Probably because there are many clouds here and the shapes and formations of the clouds are always different. They are always around the sun when it's about 5pm and the clouds block out some sun rays and you can see those sun rays shooting out from the other side of the cloud. It's really, really beautiful. There was once it had been raining on and off for a few days and it just stopped drizzling. Me and my mum were in the car, picking Kat up I think. Then I saw this most amazing rainbow. It was so BIG and CLEAR. It was right in front of us and it was perfect. A perfect curve from end to end. Wow. I never thought rainbows were that beautiful, seriously. The colours were distinct and it was just wow. But what was more amazing than that fake-looking rainbow was that there was a second rainbow framing the first. It was not as obvious as the first one, it was sort of faded, like the normal rainbows we usually see. The first rainbow was a primary rainbow, the second was a secondary (or maybe the other way around). But how cool was that? It was awesome. Two rainbows framing each other. How rare is that? Ok, I have to stop blabbering about this. You get the picture.

The sunsets here are very, very beautiful. There was once the clouds looked like a smear of gray paint, a line above the horizon. It was smooth right along the sky and the sun was half hidden, the top of it showing. The sun rays were shooting out from the bottom of that one LONG cloud. It really was beautiful. There were many sunsets (well, not really sunsets, just the sky and the sun) which were so beautiful I just could not stop staring at it. Wow.

Oh well.. That's all. I wish I had a camera, and if I did, I wish I could just pull over and snap a few pictures, preserve that beautiful view digitally that will last forever, the beautiful views that so many miss because they are not looking.

Inside Jokes

I'm speechless. The people here are so childish. The overseas students.. Hah. They think it's cool to talk about those words that have sexual meanings and they giggle (ok, not really) over it. Because most of the people who are here, they can't really speak good English, so those with 'good' English, they ask those with 'bad' English whether they 'know the meaning to this word' or not. Then those who are 'in the know' they giggle (ok, not really) over it as if it's the funniest, coolest inside joke ever. HAH.

Well.. I'm in school now and it's English class. We have a sub and we're doing nothing so here I am. Today's weather is fine. It's cool, but not cold. I've been kind of worried because this past week the weather has been HOT. It's so hard to sleep at night because our air-cons are not working properly. I guess we can't really blame those poor air-cons because for so long we have required it to blow warm air only. Now we're asking so much of it, it's probably suffering inside to give us what we want (COLD AIR!!!). But you never know, it might be laughing at us, at how we're sweating and wearing shorts and throwing the blanket to the side and stuff. Hah.

But really. Before, I would check the weather and say 'Yes, the weekend is going to be warm with 27!'. Now the days are all about 30 degrees. We even had a 34 last week. So now when I'm checking the weather I find myself searching for that day in the week when it's cool. But it's consistently been warm now for this week. So I'm worried that the time has come when the cool days are no more. So yay today is a cool day.

The flies. The flies here are crazy. They are HUGE. Die Hard, seriously. Yesterday night I was finishing an overdue homework when a huge fly flew at my face. I stood up (jumped back eheh) and stared at it. It landed beside the laptop and it stayed there. I took a piece of paper and waved it away and IT DID NOT FLY AWAY. And because I am such a considerate person and I actually do feel sorry for the poor flies we swat mercilessly, I asked Kel to come and kill it for I could not bring myself to bring down the swatter at the fly. She hit it four times, and it lay there, unmoving, on its back. Kel asked me to clean it up. I cannot bear to squash any fly with a tissue to pick it up. I would rather sweep it away. So I took a piece of paper and tried to scoop it up. In doing so I turned it back on its legs and OMYGOSH it started walking! Die Hard. Sheesh. It was absolutely freaky. So I had Kel come back in and she killed it. Smack in the middle of the swatter and the fly stuck there. I was mentally shaken (not really.. or was I?), permanently scarred for life. Hahaha. So yea, Lord Of The Flies.

The Sky Down Under. Up next! =D
